| The technical
fibers group is continuously researching, refining and developing fibers
for technical applications.
CFF is a new generation of fibrillated
acrylic fiber which acts as a high efficiency binder to improve
performance in:
- nonwovens
- specialty composites
- pulp molded products
- technical and specialty grade papers
CFF pulp has a very high degree of
fibrillation for mechanical interlocking combined with long fiber length
for good tensile strength.

CFF Fibrillated Fiber
|
It is
available in a wide range of fiber architectures as either a wet slurry,
a wet lap, or a dry pulp for use in both wet and dry processes.
This engineered fiber can also be
produced to user-defined freeness, length and moisture content values as
required for specific applications.
Special Features include:
- high efficiency binding / particle
entrapment
- mechanical strength
- good web formation for motion
processing ease.
The above special features, plus the natural
properties of acrylic . . .
- excellent environmental resistance
- low moisture sensitivity
- higher use temperature vs.
thermoplastic / cellulosic
. . . result in superior performance for the
designated applications.
Applications include:
- high performance absorptive and
particulate filtration media
- combustible shell casings
- specialty papers ranging from
speaker cones to pavement markers to official document papers
- asbestos / aramid substitution such
as in friction materials and gaskets
